Our Services

Preventative Care

The most effective way to manage a disease is to prevent it from occurring in the first place. At Healing Hands, we offer a range of safe and effective vaccines and pharmaceuticals to protect your pet from illnesses such as canine parvo virus, feline panleukopenia, and heartworm disease.

Internal Medicine

Drinking more water than usual can sometimes indicate more than just thirst, as it may be a symptom of underlying medical condition such as kidney disease or diabetes. Similarly, vomiting may indicate something as benign as a hairball, or it could be a sign of more serious issues such as hyperthyroidism.

Dental Services

Dental disease is one of the most prevalent health issues among dogs and cats. Unfortunately, pets rarely show signs of discomfort, such as refusing to eat, even when they are experiencing dental pain. As part of your pet’s annual exam, we conduct a thorough oral exam to assess their teeth,

DR. CARISSA HAVERLY, DVM

Dr. Carissa Haverly grew up in Prescott, Arizona, a small town with a rich cowboy history tucked into the Arizona chaparral. As a child, she dreamed of being an artist, which suited her sensitive and creative demeanor. However, her parents must have known she was meant to be a veterinarian because the name Carissa means “a tender touch.” Carissa always loved animals, and growing up, she had several pocket pets, dogs, cats, and even a horse.  Every summer, her clubhouse would become home to local wildlife in need of aid. Once they were healthy, they were returned to the wild.

Dr. Carissa attended Northern Arizona University and graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Biology with an emphasis in Ecology and a minor in Studio Art. Afterward, she attended the University of Minnesota and received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2012.
